MIAMI – It should come as no surprise that Miami is ranked among the “Most Fun Cities in America,” but would you believe Hialeah also made the exclusive list?

WalletHub’s annual rankings of fun cities ranks Miami at No. 4 behind Las Vegas (obviously), Orlando (huh?) and New York (yawn).

But the big surprise comes a little further down the list when Hialeah shows up as the 121st most fun city in the U.S., beating out such renowned party towns as Gilbert, Arizona (No. 133) and Rancho Cucamonga, California (No. 145).

Broward County was represented by Fort Lauderdale (No. 22) and, hold on to your hats, Pembroke Pines (No. 93).

The rankings were based on three key categories: Entertainment and recreation, nightlife and parties, and costs.

Using 58 different metrics among those categories, each city was graded on a 100-point scale.

Miami tallied 53.82 points, finishing 13th in Entertainment and Recreation, but second overall in Nightlife and Parties. Shockingly (sarcasm alert), Miami ranked 4th in the country when it comes to most fitness centers per capita.

With 28.58 points, Hialeah fared best in the Entertainment and Recreation category, placing 99th overall, but ranking low with Miami when it comes to fewest acres of parkland per capita.
