WEST PARK, Fla. – A 33-year-old man was fatally shot Sunday morning in the parking lot of the Polo Club in Pembroke Park, the Broward Sheriff’s Office reports.

Jeff Reveille is believed to have been shot at about 7 a.m. as the club was closing, deputies said.

“We heard a gunshot and it was one shot, and the guy who got shot was crawling,” a witness who did not want to be named, said. “I went over to try to help him, but I didn’t think he made it.”

The witness said he tried to tend to Reveille’s wounds while waiting for paramedics to arrive.

“I was holding the bullet holes,” he said. “I was holding the entry and exit wounds with my hand and I took his shorts and tried to hold more pressure on it. But it was too late.”

Reveille was pronounced dead at 7:40 a.m. at Memorial Regional Hospital.

Deputies closed off roads in the 5500 block of Hallandale Beach Boulevard as they investigated. In addition, roads surrounding McTyre Park  in the 3500 block of Southwest 56th Avenue were also closed off.

Family and friends of the shooting victim began to arrive at the shooting scene as the morning progressed.

Many of them looked heartbroken as they learned of the death of their loved one.

“We don’t know why this man was killed,”  BSO spokeswoman Gina Carter said. “We don’t even know if he knew the killer or if they were total strangers.”

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
