CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – A nine-year-old boy rescued his little sister from drowning on Friday night. She was in the pool of their house in Coral Springs.

After the one-year-old girl found her way to the pool, the boy alerted adults. They pulled her out and took her to the kitchen area, where she was when Coral Springs police officers and firefighters arrived.

After the girl regained her pulse through cardiopulmonary resuscitation, firefighters took her from the home near Westview Drive and Northwest 55th Street in the Kessington Commons community.

Doctors first treated the girl at Broward Health Coral Springs and later transferred her to Broward Health Medical Center, where she remained Friday night.
